Veteran sound designer and London Animation Club technical director discussed his art and screened examples of his work. About Tom:Tom started his career in the animation industry in the early 2000s working as a runner at Bob Godfrey Films. Having such a great introduction to the industry as a first job was always going to be a tough act to follow, so after a few full-time jobs as an employee, Tom followed in Bob’s footsteps and became a freelance sound designer/editor, under the name Lowe Frequency. Doing sound for animation was the obvious choice, and the majority of work Tom does is for animated films and series, with a few independent live-action short films, documentaries, and corporate films thrown in for good measure. |
