One Minute Hulls, Artists’ Moving Image Festival, 2015
I curated a programme of one-minute animations for the One Minute Hull Artists’ Moving Image Festival which was screened between 6th and 8th November 2015 at the Museum Of Club Culture in Hull. This was not a London Animation Club event as such, although the Am1nation programme featured work predominantly by guest-speakers and members of the club. At the private view, Michael Szpakowski introduced the One Minute Festival as whole and I introduced the Am1nation programme.

Am1nation
Am1nation is a programme of one-minute animations curated by Martin Pickles for the One Minute Hull Artists’ Moving Image Festival.
It is a selection of contemporary British Animation and includes work by internationally-renowned filmmakers. It features a broad range of styles and genres, from experimental to narrative to comedy, with much in between.
Martin is the director of London Animation Club, a monthly screening event in the capital, and the majority of films in the programme are made by guests and regular members of the club. Sixteen of the films are festival premieres and nine of them were made especially for this screening.
The event takes place at the Museum of Club Culture, Suite 5, Bond 31, 42 High Street, Hull, HU1 1PS at 6.30 pm.
